Podcast
The latest edition of the Journals of Spiritual Discovery podcast features “Falling For Truth with Howdie Mickoski.” Howdie’s book, below, was just published.  As always, the podcast is free.

New Book
Many of you know I’m involved with the TAT Foundation Press.  I’m happy to report that our latest title is available — Falling For Truth: A Spiritual Death and Awakening.  Read more about it at the TAT Foundation website. Please show your support by purchasing a copy and leaving a review on Amazon.  Thanks!

Personal
I surprised myself by making a donation to Marianne Williamson’s campaign.  Not because I think she would make a great president, but because she’s adding a dimension to the discussion that is sorely needed. When spiritual wisdom becomes a value on par with fortune and fame, perhaps we’ll have the solution to tearing ourselves and the planet apart. I’d love to see her make it to the next round of debates.

Quote That I’m Pondering
“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.” ~ Rutger Hauer (who passed away in July 2019) as Roy Batty in Blade Runner.

Wishing you all the best,
Shawn

I walk in Emptiness —
The constant companion;
the ever present Friend.
To be alone is shedding of illusion.
To fear is dawning of recognition.
Swing the hammer with uncaring
and great attention.

Podcast
The latest edition of the Journals of Spiritual Discovery podcast features “Deeper Than That,” an interview with Jac O’Keeffe. In addition to exploring Jac’s teaching, we also discuss her work with the Association for Spiritual Integrity and how that organization hopes to establish a baseline of ethical standards for spiritual teachers. As always, the podcast is free.

Upcoming Event
TAT’s August Workshop is fast approaching. Beyond Mindfulness: Meditation and the Path Within is August 16-18, 2019 at the Claymont Mansion in West Virginia. Only an hour from the Dulles airport, TAT consistently offers the best spiritual events on the East coast.

Personal
Earlier this year, I started down a path of certification in Depth Hypnosis – a modality of personal transformation that combines elements of Buddhism, hypnotherapy, transpersonal psychology, shamanism, and energy medicine. While I’m not a proponent of perfecting the human being, I have found there are psychological “blocks” that may delay and derail one’s path of discovery. Depth Hypnosis is one method of dissolving those blocks.

Podcast
The latest edition of the Journals of Spiritual Discovery podcast features Eshwar Segobind who may very well get an award for fastest path to awakening.  “Clear and Simple” is how one listener described him.

Also, you might have missed Episode 18, a guided meditation I created based on a passage from the play Our Town.

Other
For you Josephy Sadony fans, I added a couple of YouTube videos of Sadony’s son and grandsons.  No great insights there, but it’s fun from a historical perspective.  See them on the Sadony page.

All the best,

Shawn

Quote That I’m Pondering
“If you want direct mind, you have to avoid technology.” ~ Richard Rose.
Wondering what “direct mind” is?  Listen to this month’s podcast.

Wishing you all the best,
Shawn

“Where are you going?”
whispers the wind.
Wrap yourself in the cloak of the world
and heap logs upon the fire,
for night, partner of the wind, fast approaches.
Turn your head no longer,
Welcome wind and night.
